MARK BOYADJIAN

Managing Partner

Mark founded Arevia Power in 2015. Mark leads Arevia’s Fundraising and Power Marketing.  Mark has led over $600MM in solar project fundraising over the last 11 years. Mark has direct experience in raising capital throughout solar projects’ lifecycle from development capital to Tax Equity and permanent financing. Mark also led the funding of SunEdison’s first non-recourse $85MM development capital loan. In addition to fundraising, Mark has deep experience in tax credit and PPA structuring. Mark was responsible for structuring and closing SunEdison’s 2012 New Markets Tax Credit twinned with solar project in Massachusetts and for the 2012 CPS Energy 36MW Partial Prepay project. He holds a B.S. in Finance from New York University Stern and an M.B.A. from University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School.

RICARDO GRAF

CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER + MANAGING PARTNER

Ricardo leads all of Arevia’s project development efforts including permitting, interconnection, regulatory affairs and construction. He is seasoned in all facets of utility-scale solar PV and battery project development. Before co-founding Arevia, led solar development project teams to over $502MM in project financing over the last nine-year period.  During this time, he has created over 2.5GW of project pipeline/backlog in the Western U.S., Hawaii, Puerto Rico at Axio Power, SunEdison and GCL New Energy. and manages overall portfolio execution. He holds a B.S. in Public Relations from Pacific Union College and an M.B.A. from La Sierra University.

RAFIK ALBERT

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF LANDS + PERMITTING

Rafik has 15 years of experience in due diligence, permitting, and environmental review of a wide scope of projects, including residential, industrial, commercial and mixed-use development, in addition to a focus on renewable energy. At EPD Solutions, his work spanned from due diligence to construction permits, and he led entitlement efforts and environmental reviews for over 2 GW of solar projects, primarily in the Western U.S. He holds a B.S. in City and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo and an M.B.A. from California State University, Long Beach.

CHRIS BROOKS

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF EXTERNAL RELATIONS

Chris has more than 30 years of experience in the contracting, renewable energy, and utility industries and started his career as an apprentice lineworker and then electrician.  He became the electrical license holder for a utility construction company.  In 2001, Chris founded Las Vegas Solar Electric and constructed the first commercial and utility solar PV projects in Nevada before joining his company with Bombard Electric. As Director of Bombard Renewable Energy, he managed engineering, procurement, and construction.  Chris later joined the California ISO utility, Valley Electric Association, as EVP of Energy Services where he managed renewable energy, specialized government contracting, legislative affairs, marketing, and public relations. Chris served in the Nevada State Legislature as an Assemblyman and then Senator from 2016 to 2022.

TIM DERRICK

SENIOR ADVISOR

Tim leads wind project development at Arevia. He began his renewable energy career at Enron Wind and GE Wind in Tehachapi, CA in 2001. He was co-founder and CEO of Axio Power, one of the first utility-scale solar developers in the U.S. and Canada from 2007-2011. Axio was acquired by SunEdison where Tim became General Manager of the North American business, developing, financing, and constructing over 1.5 GW of solar projects. Tim later was CEO of Lightsource North America which was acquired by British Petroleum in 2018. In 2019 he co-founded Helios Energy, one of the first utility scale solar developers in New Zealand where he serves as a Director and Advisor. Tim holds a BA from Dartmouth College, an MBA from the University of Michigan, and served as a US Army officer for eight years.

ROGER HALBAKKEN

SENIOR DIRECTOR OF PORTFOLIO ANALYTICS + ORIGINATION

Hal directs the Portfolio Analytics team at Arevia Power. Hal has over 30 years of experience in the utility and electrical industries. While in the US Navy he operated the propulsion and electrical generation equipment onboard the USS Ogden. He earned his BS in Mathematics and a teaching credential, leading to his time as a teacher. Hal later became an outside operator at the Ione Cogeneration project and spent several years operating petroleum coke and natural gas fired generating units. Hal spent almost 20 years at NV Energy. His roles there included cost modeling and portfolio analytics on the trading floor, renewable energy procurement, renewable project financial modeling, and the operations and maintenance of their renewable energy assets. Hal then joined National Renewable Solutions, working on competitive solicitations and development of solar and storage projects. Hal is a NERC certified Reliability Operator.

CAMERON PAVLUK

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Cameron leads Arevia Power’s eastern solar project development efforts. Cameron has 10 years of experience in power markets and project development. He began his career at EDF Trading North America working on the ERCOT Power trading desk. From there, he joined the First Solar Development team in Houston, TX where he focused on early-stage project siting in PJM, ERCOT, and MISO. When family brought him out west Cameron transferred within First Solar in San Francisco and began working on mid-late-stage projects located in WECC and the CAISO. Cameron was the lead developer on the ERCOT platform at Candela Renewables where he led development to the successful board approval of 2 projects in ERCOT each 200MWac+. Cameron holds a BA in Finance from Texas A&M University.

SOPHIE XU

DIRECTor, Business Development

Sophie Xu leads Arevia Power’s financial analysis. She began her career at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, in the infrastructure and renewable energy private equity business. She later worked at Arevon Energy, focusing on development and origination in partnership with Capital Dynamic’s MISO portfolio. When the Arevon Energy Management team founded Crossover Energy Partners, an energy transition solutions partner of KKR, Sophie led the investment team, leading analysis of portfolio M&A opportunities. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Yale University.
